You're welcome.
Because of the colors in the images, I was able to use some "cheap & dirty" techniques to create this wallpaper. It probably took just over a hour from start to finish. I find I spend most of my time working on the backgrounds, but in this case, was able to use a Photoshop pattern that worked well.
I'm working on a video tutorial on my previous wallpaper to show how quickly this can be done if everything comes together. |
Wow you do have skill and I would like that a tutorial how do you get the rez so high? For example the Dina wallpaper is so sharp and high rez and if Im not mistaken the rez of most TF jpgs is about 100 do you boost that or? |
This is an easy one. I have already posted a video of me doing that particular wallpaper in the first entry at:
http://www.forumophilia.com/viewtopic.php?t=68347
This whole thread of wallpapers is dedicated to wallpapers I have made using at technique that "improves" the poor quality Teen Funs images.
In a nutshell, for the Dina I used the pen tool to cut out the image. It is important to stay a pixel or two inside the image in order to get rid of the artifacts from compression of the original image. The background color is consistent enough in the original to play with it and keep the hair looking good, which meant retaining some of the jpg artifacts.
I also use a fairly small format, 1280 x 1024 for these wallpapers, so I don't have to enlarge the base images too much. I tend to not use the various sharpen filters except for some very limited areas, like the eyes or lips. I find generally applying them creates more issues that they resolve on low quality images. As an example, they tend to accentuate any compression artifacts.
The attached image shows the basic cut out. I created very hard edges until I got to the hair. I left a lot of the background in place along the hair and used the blue as the overall background color.

I was feeling creative again today and did Paula. This one was a lot more work that the past few I did. I like the result - my new desktop, for now.
For those that are interested, the right bum cheek was completely unusable in the original image (too dark and partially missing), so I had to build her a new one. It's actually part of the same leg, from just below the knee. That way the lighting and colors were pretty close. I played around with Photoshop curves to darken it up a bit and then liberally retouched it. |

| I thought I would try a real challange and did this Elia. This model's hair is terrible to work with, so I thought I would see how well I could do. The result seems to be moderately successfu. Lots of other work too - on both arms and both eyes. |

| This is Valentina. Simple, but effective. This is one of the lower quality images (the original is only 91 K). Knife edge cut out of a larger image, the sharpen filter on the facial features and a soft gaussian blur on the hair seem to have worked. The background flag was done in Illustrator and then run through a filter for the effect. |

I am running out of "good quality" Teen Funs images to work with.
The next few models are older sets. Many of the files are less than 100K in size, so the image quality will be below what I usually try to work with.
Bear with me. These are the models that first got some us onto Forumophilia and its associated pay sites.

| Another one of the "A" girls - Alla. The first of the images that are not so good to work with. A lot of work here to try to tighten up a few very small, highly compressed images. |

| Another of the older sets that required considerable rework to try to improve the image quality. Amber in Aeroflot uniform seemed to have the makings of a theme |
