I have download the "rapidshare manager" from rapidshare site and it's a load of crap. It wont work for me because i get very slow speeds when trying to download multiple files. I have a fast broadband connection but the speeds i am getting are like speeds from the late 90's, 56k when trying to download 5 files at the same time in rapid manager. When i do them manually i get around 800k, and thats when i have about 5 files downloading at the same time without using rapid manager.
I have a premium account on both rapidshare and megaupload and have the Megaupload tool bar from megaupload site, and that rocks cos it does the job i want it to do but it's a shame rapidshare manager cant do the same job.
Anyone else having this problem? or anyone know of a better alternative solution? |

I actually find my speeds slightly faster with Rapidshare Manager.
If you call hitting 80k/sec fast ... with one file ... *sigh* ... backwards Australian internet.
My problems though is it tends to decide to "take a breather" while downloading. I can be 90% through a file when it just decides to ... stop. Like it's been paused. I generally have to close and reopen it again to get it going.
Then when i'm adding links it'll pop up and tell me there's a network error and the files are unavailable. I do it again and it works fine.
Very glitchy shit it is. _________________

| I have found most software from RS is quite crappy. I tried the manager but found both upload and download speeds quite slow. I use the Rapiduploader but when I upload sometimes it "forgets" to give me a link for the zip it obviously uploaded. |

I've never had a problem with RapidUploader.
Just ask for the zip. Click the appropriate button.
Or are you saying that after you do that there is no link?
If so, log in to your premium page and you can find the file.
Right click (in Windows) and copy the link. |

Thats exactly what happens. I use the uploader and then go to my premium page and the link isnt there. I tend to use my browser for individual uploads and the uploader for less then a handful but I have learned my lesson not to use the uploader for more than that because at least one link will go MIA. Wish I knew why this happened but I have no clue. |

I see. You upload MANY files and the problem shows itself.
I have probably not tried to upload more than 3 at a time...so have not experienced the problem. |

Sorry, I misspoke. When I upload many at a time, its one at a time with many in the que. Its not doing 3 simultaneously. Sorry for the confusion. |

I figured out that rapid-uploader don't give an error message when you have uploaded a file that is banned, means a file that has been already uploaded to RS and then be deleted by RS due to violation of terms/copyright.
I also had problems with files that were almost 100MB in size (104890 kb). You can upload this files via browser but rapid-uploader says it's too big, but then you get an error.
Can it be that your IP-adress has changed during the upload process?
[edit]
i forgot to say: be careful with uploading-programs you can find in the net.
Don't give your acount info away too fast. Maybe try upoading some files as a free user to see if it's faster, and if, search the web to see if that program is related with phishing attempts. |
