|
|
I want to upload a 620MB movie to Rapidshare. I have the Winrar program and need to split the movie into 100MB volumes, or roughly seven 98MB files to upload to RapidShare.
Winrar asks "If you wish to split the archives into several parts, enter the size of a single part, in bytes, in the field below."
I guess I'll have to ask a stupid question. How many bytes are in 100MB? Or for those familiar with the winrar program, I can select from a dropdown menu a field that already exists in the program (98,078k - ZIP- 100). Is this the one I need to select instead of entering a byte value?
I'm new to uploading and was going to split the movie with HjSplit but there has to be a simpler way using winrar. Your help is greatly appreciated. |

the 98,078k - ZIP- 100 option will give you the results you are after
there are 1,000,000 bytes per MB if that helps
When I first used WinRar I got my calculations wrong and and ended up with a file split into almost a thousand parts (which were then spread all over my Desktop because i forgot to select a folder ) |

I had the exact same thing happen to me a little while ago. My desktop was loaded with winrar files.
Thank you so much for your help. |
