Those damned cats are tough to make out just like everyone has been saying. It's be a lot easier if they were a different color of gray compared to the letters.
I've seen on other forums various tools to use on rapidshare downloads but I make it a point to try and avoid all freeware and most other downloaded programs. I'm not even that keen on rar, just downloading it once in a great while to open a batch of its folders than uninstalling and deleting it.
I imagine that the greatest expense that rapidshare has now is for lawyers.

what i don't understood are what are all these "tools" that people are using to bypass the system. the only tool i know of is batch file i wrote and it doesn't truly bypass the system

No. I have to say:I use(d) them too.If you have a dynamic IP,its very easy to DL as much as you want for free.You just have to kill your connection and renew it to get a new IP.And with a different IP than before,you can bypass the system.Before I had one of those magic tools I did it all by myself.Typing the letters,downloading,killing the connection,getting a new IP,typing the letters etc. Then a mate told me about this tool.All you need is a dynamic IP(Where I live 90 % of the ISPs have dynamic ones) & a batchfile that reconnects for you.I heard its easy to write but since I'm a pcidiot..  Anyway..those tools typed the letters for you,downloaded the stuff,they even made the so called reconnect for you.The only thing you need to do was:Getting the links. Cool times..dont ask me how often this tool was downloading at night or when I was at work..They did not bypass the waiting time,but made it much easier.
But since those stupid cats,its not working anymore.I still let the tool run @ night sometimes(HappyHour time),its working fine then.
Those tools are called RSD,Cryptload,USD(Universal Share Downloader).As far as I know,the USD is also working with other hosters.
Dont ask me about the correct settings,especially about the reconnectfile,I have no idea.

| that cat-finding system was annoying, i hope they change that! but during these happy hours, sometimes i still get waiting times, not sure for some of ya. |

What exactly is the big attraction of Happy Hours anyway?? The lack of having to wait 60 seconds to DL a file? Big freaking deal.
I thought it meant that there was no wait after finishing one file before you could start another DL (this would actually have value). But when one file finishes and I try to start another, I still get the you-have-already-exceeded-your-limit message and am told I need to wait X number of minutes before trying again.
So if Happy Hours is only saving you the 60 second delay before you can download your 1 file every 2 hours, I repeat - what exactly is the big attraction?? What is one more minute added on to 2 hours?
[Also, I agree with the stupid cat thing - it certainly seems discriminatory against the 'visually impaired,' since often I have a hard time figuring it out with 20/20 eyesight.]

well, besides saving you up to 2 minutes, it saves you from having to decipher if its a cat/dog/mole/rabbit/etc. |

yeah, the batch file is really easy. just do a google search. it's trying to get the captcha settings to work that is a pain in the arse.
probably easier to just get a premium if you can afford it and then start sharing to get points and renew renew renew |
