As I sat recently contemplating my existence - if in fact I actually do exist  and am not, in fact, an undigested bit of beef or a fragment of underdone potato - I thought about FP and wondered who all of the rest of you are who also visit here.
So here is a completely anonymous (as far as I know) demographic survey of FP regulars. This will be an open-ended poll, so trends in membership may shift over time. But please only vote once and...
No newbies please
So many spammers and phishers post a few times and get banned that anyone with fewer than say 50 posts is just adding noise to the poll and not helping. So anyone with >50 posts please feel free to 'vote' - everyone else get posting. I rely upon your honor as a decent human being to refrain from posting until you demonstrate that you are a "regular" by reaching the 50 post threshold, since there is no way I can actually prevent you from 'voting.'
EDIT: Revised guidelines: 50 post minimum waived for the ladies. The fairer sex may vote at any time.
If I offended you and missed a category, let me know and I will add it (if I can?) If you are engaged or in common law marriage or in a civil union or similar legal arrangement, feel free to vote as married if you choose - no bigotry allowed here. If you have been divorced but are now remarried, or are transgender, or even a Transformer, vote according to what you have been for the majority of your time here at FP.
And BTW, I will not answer the poll question myself until enough other people have already done so, so as not to give away too much about myself. So if the first response is 'unhappily married bisexual female' don't assume that's me. 
[Never done a poll before, but I have seen a lot of polls get the smackdown from mods, so if I shouldn't be doing this for some reason, please feel free to delete this...]

Hi, billyellis. Your use of the POLL feature is sincere. Others join and promptly poll our members their first day here, or otherwise use the POLL feature solely to make their Video thread stand out in the Video section.
But a geniune poll is perfectly fine. In fact, I will add a line to the rules or guidelines to denote what is and is not proper use of the POLL feature before I forget to do so. |

However, I find it somewhat difficult to pidgeon hole myself into one of said genres.

Well for once I had two hands available for duty, something that can not be said for very many threads here.
Trying to include as many people as possible was tough, especially since it is not possible to post more than a single question. It would have been much easier to ask 4 separate questions (gender; orientation; age group; marital status) and then combine the results to get the output...

Hi lewdie. [Movie tangent - ever see Trip To Bountiful? The main character has an adult son whose name/nickname is 'Ludie.' While I am not southern and have no idea what the spelling or derivation of the name is, I am pretty certain it is not referring to anyone being lewd.]

You raise a good point. There are more than enough dudes around here that I can be selective, but not nearly as many dudettes. So I have revised the original guidelines above - any female member may vote regardless of post numbers. |
