One of the best ones I've found is Cheshirecat's One Click Thumbnailer,

It's based on the
mtn free thumbnailer core at SourceForge. Unfortunately, mtn doesn't support RM files, and it's sorely in need of a recompile 'cos the newer ffmpeg libraries DO handle RM files. Having said all that, it's the fastest and easiest thumbnailer I've used, and I've tried 'em all at one time or another. You can easily change rows and columns and don't have to mess with all of the ugly details that mtn needs since this is a gui shell around it. My only complaint is that it drops the thumbnail on the desktop instead of the directory where the video is. Other than that, it's damned near perfect.
