I've created another premium account on RS with rapidpoints. Seems you can only make it for one month even if you have points to make much more, any way to make a longer, 3 months maybe account with points?

I doubt that but here's where I need help. I want to transfer files to the new account so it can start making enough of it's own points to be self sustaining before the first 30 days runs out. I see I can transfer one file at a time. How about a bunch? Is there a way to pick lots of them for one big (easy) transfer or is it going to transfer all of them (looks that way) if I go forward with the "transfer all" option.
Actually that might be a good way now that I think about it, it will certainly get 10,000 points in a month that way and the old one will have enough points to go for about a year without any new files added but I will of course still upload and I can just put all my new uploads into the first account.
I assume there are no issues with the links I've already posted becoming invalid just because I moved them, the urls will remain the same right?

Any other tips or advice concerning this?

Thank you to someone who has been there and done this already for letting me know.

As far as i know you can't pick a bunch of files to transfer, is either one by one or all of them.
About the url's, i did transfer all my files from a collectors to a premium 6 months ago and no links were damaged, so no problem there.
At that time i had around 500 files and that was enough to make it self-sustained. Now i have 1200 or so and have enough points to keep the account at least to august 2010.

And about the possibility of a longer account with the points of your current collectors, i think not.
I couldn't use the rest of my point on the collector's account when i created the premium, so they're just there waiting for me to need a new premium.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure if "transfer all files" was going to move just the ones on the page I was on or what. I've never created link lists either, just a little nervous.
The more I think about it moving all the files to the new account is just the extreme of what I really wanted to do, make a new account with more points/longer time, so I'd be sure to get enough points to extend it in the first 30 days. If I do all the files I'll surely get enough and I won't have to worry about uploading a bunch of new files (but I will anywayVery Happy) to the original, cause that's where my points are that will last a looooong time.

So, I'm going to proceed now.

Okay, so I did it but now my files are not in alphabetical order anymore (on the seven pages of files I look at).
Is there anyway to correct it, maybe it will sort itself out? I still have files that I have not posted yet and the links are not in RS manager anymore. Could be a slight pain to find them, maybe I'll have to use that "Downloadlink-Export (all files)" link I only clicked for the first time today, I see the files remained in order there.
Oh wait, duh, looks like that may be a faster way to find files alphabetically anyhow...
Still it bugs me how they got jumbled.

It is quite obvious that you can create only a second "one month premium" with points even if your first one has more points.
As soon as you created a new premium, it can be extended only with points created by itself.

That's pretty much the same idea, I have at the moment.
Just to have two accounts with less than 50 GB (my premium stores 70 GB right now).
But I've created a collector account and move files from my premium to my collector (and make sure, that the were downloaded recently, because of this new 60 days limit which becomes valid soon).
A soon as there are enough files in my collector and it has created enough points I'll upgrade it to my second premium.
And yes, the urls will be the same.

Downloadlink-Export link (all files)

It's a great convenience.
I'll save the link list in a .doc (text) file and if some links were deleted due to reports compare an old saved one with the new, so I know exactly, which files died.

I use excel to sort these link lists, works fine for me.

If you have (as you said) now 7 pages and are looking for certain files, you may also switch to the "new premium zone (beta)". There you have a very helpful search function and you can also rename files (but then your link-name changes)

I did the same two weeks ago and moved all my files from one account to a newly created one.
But there's something strange i noticed: even if the old account has no more files in it, i still get some premium points there Confused Don't know why.

Thanks for all of the helpful replies! My list is now in order again, thank you userL301!

How do you compare and quickly identify the difference in the old vs new text file MDR?

Thanks for the beta suggestion Loui375, I'll give that a try.

In only 17 hours, my new account with all my original files is generating rapid points pretty fast, check it out...

now I just gotta go figure out why I'm getting the extra screen asking me if I want to download as premium or free user when I download RS files with the new account, that should be easy...

If you notice that there is a difference between the new and and old list, you can copy both to open office text documents.
There's a function that allows you to compare two documents and differences will be highlighted.

Or use Notepad++.
There you can compare two text files directly and it's freeware.

or Compare It (my favorite, fast and simple):

I think you have to activate the direct download option and you get rid of the choice free or premium if you're logged into your new account.

yep Arrow Enable "Direct downloads, requested files are saved without redirection via RapidShare" in the settings

I've been using these text or csv files for a while, too. (i preferred commandline -> sort etc.Cool )
But i prefer a special tools for this:
For a quite long time i'm using the Account Manager mentioned above, I get a message when files have been deleted, i can search for files in different accs, sort by filename, downloads, last DL, whatever. I use it for up- and downloads and don't log in via browser very often anymore. I always have to switch between list and detail view and between old and new style to keep track of my files. With Account Manager things are much easier Very Happy
