still not found a reliable and usable solution, CAMstudio records the vid fine, but 2mins is a 600meg video! Sad I have played with the settings and quality and cannot record audio either.

CamStudio should be able to do what you want. First of all, for the audio, make sure it is set to "record audio from speakers". Any sound that goes through your sound card should be picked up and saved. Check under audio options to see that the sound card is correctly selected.

For the file size, you may want to experiment with the settings, including which AVI compressor you are using. I have lots of different Codecs on my machines and I usually stick with DivX or one of its clones like 3ivx. Consider the K-lite Codec pack (http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/) to get a few more options.

Here are a few other tips you can try:
Make sure all video hardware acceleration is turned OFF. Go to the XP display control panel, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshoot. Push the slider all the way to the left.
In Camstudio's Video Options screen, set the Quality slider to 75.
Play with the Keyframes and Framerates settings. 200/5/200 give excellent quality and good audio synch, but the file size can be huge. A setting of 30/33/30 gives good+ quality, which may occasionally go out of audio synch. It's probably best for recording streaming video though.

You wouldn't be the first person to find CamStudio's files a little large after the 1st pass. Often a second video editor program can be employed to recompress the original file. A good free one is VirtualDub (http://www.virtualdub.org/). With this, you can play with file formats and compression options until you get a final file that you like.

It sounds like the best you're going to get from that is a copy of the video. Why not just use OEP and download it right from their server, in its original format?

wow..oh.wow, I just signed up for this site a couple of minutes ago and have been working on this problem.

You see whats happening (as best as I can tell) is the embeded video gets dynamically created and/or also has a key called 'token'

Quote:

If you try over and over again running the src created after a page refresh eventually you'll get it but as I see it this token gets created/replaced after anyone!! trys to load a new movie (ie...try refreshing your movie and watch it change) so the best I can see it you have to get to it before anyone else tries to load a movie.....hehe...

so, the question is, how do they create this token????ideas????

I'll try your suggestions above......and keep in contact. I'' keep working on it and I'll await any ideas.

finally got the prob sorted last tonight, couldnt record sound and large files were my problems from camstudio, I did see the record from mic option, I have a mic so though I would give it a go. It worked! so I placed my mic to the speakers and could then record sound as well.

Done one so far heres a preview, will see if I can clip the whole thing down and compress / cut up

I guess I'm not suppost to post specific link information????

regardless, I figured out whats happening with the token.....davie...I think its just me and you on this.....do you know what I'm talking about when I say the token.

Regardless, it works as a randomly generated key that allows you to gain access and then the key gets destroyed after you finish downloading (ie...once the movie appears).....so the trick is simple, just cut it off before it starts downloading.....

get one of the video embeded downloaders from firefox...via greasemonkey....open page, stop it quick or use the download link that my greasemonkey add gives.....(its called Unembed) just search for it...that will redirect you.

tell me if you have problems....

Thank you Jman420 for the information. I have installed greasemonkey and unhide plugin for mozilla. I followed your directions, i stopped the move before it played then copied the url to the browser hit enter the .wmv file opened in winamp and it played the file, but i was not able to save the file to my hard drive. since winamp don't have an option under menus. Do you know of any trick that would help me to download the file.

OK, OK!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

You guys SHOULD have tried my method. Took me a while to find a password laying around, but I found one, and got some of this delectable honey from the tree.

I guarantee you, this works! Here is the nitty-gritty:

You will need Offline Explorer Pro, which you can use free for thirty days. It is here:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Offline-Browsers/Offline-Explorer-Pro.shtml

This is the EXACT method for getting the movies from CCT, TBC, RMOA - anything connected with the allrealitypass network.

1. Open OEP
2. Open your browser
3. In your browser, navigate to the video clips gallery of the movie of your choice
4. Click "watch entire movie" button
5. Click "high version" (movie will begin to play in a popup window)
6. Right-click "high (t1 super high speed)" and choose "copy link location" (now you can close the popup window)
7. In OEP, click "New" button in the menu bar - "Project Properties" dialog pops up
8. Change "level limit" value to 0 (zero)
9. In the category menu under "advanced" select "passwords"
10. Enter your username and password (you have to do this every time)
11. Click "OK" - now you are ready to download the project
12. Click "download" button in the menu bar - project starts downloading. Give it a couple of seconds to sort through the files.
13. You might see (I saw) two downloads of the same size (measured in seconds). You can delete one of them, they are the same file.
14. Once the project finishes, the icon under the "Projects" tab changes from a green arrow to a magnifying glass. Select the project.
15. With the project selected, go to the "Edit" menu and choose "Find Contents"
16. Uncheck "Search in text files only" and click "Find."
17. One of the files will be much larger than the rest. That is your movie. Select that file.
18. Click the "Browse" button. Windows Media Player (or your chosen movie viewer) will pop up.
19. From the "File" menu choose "Save Media As. . ."
20. You might have to wait for it to finish buffering. Choose a file name and save.
21. Enjoy at your leisure!

Note: The file will be .wmv and it will have the problem of inability to drag. You can fix it with a video fixing program.

Here is my thread where I've begun posting some of these movies:

One more thing. When I got these I had logged in to the site by the method of user:pass@www.url.com . As it turns out, then all the links are automatically supplied with that password, so you can skip steps 9 & 10 above, if that is the case.
