Rapidshare Question

Should I be discreet or something when naming & linking my Rapidshare uploads? I've seen people post partial addresses & people refer to the file names having certain words or names in them. Porn is against Rapidshare rules.

OK, I right click my file, add to archive (RAR), set a password, then I split the RAR file up with HJSPlit & upload. Then when someone downloads them, they join them, then uncompress with the password.

Sound Right?

That would be the hard way

Right click your video

Select RAR to archive it (if you don't have this option then configure RAR under options-integration)

Have RAR "Split to volumes" if the movie is bigger than 100mb
set file size to 100,000,000 bytes

Upload all pieces.

I just dint have an option to password it unless I choose "add to archive". But I guess that is easier than using HJsplit.

Your last post is not clear to me.
When you right click the movie to make an archive of it and select RAR, all archive options are available.

If not, re-configure RAR integration.

If I select add to rar, it just creates a rar file. If I select add to archive, a menu pops up with setting & all that.

How many points should I have before I convert them?

As nudge pointed out already, the WinRAR shell integration option should be used, it is the default install option if I recall correctly.

Right-click any file and choose Add To Archive, and WinRAR launches and opens a new window with five tabs displayed with the General tab to the front. Type a name for the new archive in the window labeled Archive Name.

Now select the tabbed window titled Advanced, and set a password.

While at it, in the Comment tab, you can enter your name or a message (if you download a video posted on this site titled Lena, and check the file`s Properties/Ccmments in Windows Explorer, it displays the phrase [by.dionis] as he was the one who uploaded that clip of Lena and so Dionis added that comment to demark his uploads).

Lastly, notice that on the General tab in WinRAR, there are certain options listed on the right side of the tab such as 'Put Authenticity Verification', 'Put Recovery Record', and so on. Do not use those options as they are absolutely not needed by people uploading and downloading porn movie clips and those options simply slow down the unpacking of the archive(s) by the end user without any real benefit to 'checking authenticity' and other some such available options not related to sharing porn clips on the Internet.

Just remember that if the file exceeds the size limit on uploads to Rapidshare, i.e. 100mb, set WinRAR to limit the file size of the archives to less than 100mb, by typing 95,000,000 (which is to say 95MB) in the box at the bottom of the General tab in the WinRAR options menu.

Another question;


Rapidshare says files up to 100MB, yet I've seen files slightly larger. What's the true maximum size? I think I saw a file 112mb recently.

But chances are also that those links are no longer valid (they have to be more than 8 months old ... imagine!) because if the uploader do not continue to be under a Premium Account and continues to pay, the files dissapear after 30 days of no-activity ...


Conclusion: Forget the size of >100MB and use cutting tools if necessary for larger files. Additionally, smaller files are likely to be uploaded error-free ...
