Dear Friends

I have ever used Image Grabber II to take caps previews from the films in thumbnail form. I have recently installed Media Player Classic version 6.4.9.0, and have tried to take screens caps and serials screen caps, and ever I get error message "Get Current Image Failed, hr=8000ffff", even if I tried to take one cap or save them as thumbnails

I have seen in the forum caps previews made with Media Player Classics. Please, could any of you explain me how to do that ??. And aditionally if VLC can take automatic caps like Image Grabber II does and how to do so ?

1) Download Media Player Classic 6.4.9.0:

http://www.free-codecs.com/Media_Player_Classic_download.htm

2) Launch Media Player Classic 6.4.9.0

3) Open a video file

4) Pause the video file

5) Select from the menu File/Save Thumbnails and save the capture to your desktop (or wherever you want to save it to), and you`re done.

(Note that in the Save Thumbnails dialog box you can select how many columns of frames, resolution, etc but you probably should use the default capture settings until you are familiar with doing captures using MPC.)

Sorry, xpanther. I misunderstood your post. These links might prove useful to you.

Microsoft Developer Network describes such an error as
"Channel 9 Forums » Techoff » what is an 8000ffff error? (caused by conflict between Java-COM tools)"
http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=174819

This site mentions the error in relation to Windows Media Player:
http://discussms.hosting.lsoft.com/SCRIPTS/WA-MSD.EXE?A2=ind0103b&L=wmtalk&T=0&P=30424

And this site has your error message:

The save image function doesn't work with the Overlay renderer. Go to Media Player Options and change the output renderer to VMR-9 (renderless). Then restart the player.

Thanks buddy you solved my problem. All I had to do was change the output renderer setting to VMR-9
