I tried to join some avi's, but even though the files end with .001 / .002 and so on, the prog doesn't recognise any of them in the "select the first input file" mask.

What to do?!?

Did the files in question come from this site?

Which post and what is the name of the clip in question?

hi, sometimes the first of a series of split files is downloaded as an avi. The d/l'ed first file shows xxxxx.001.avi instead of just xxxxx.001. The second file and so on are usually ok and show xxxxx.002, etc. Thus, when HJsplit looks, it sees no file ending in .001 If this is your problem, simply go in and rename the the first file by deleting the .avi at the end to change its ending to .001. Do not add another .001, backspace to the imbedded .001 The computer will probably warn you that changing this may be a problem. Say change it. The file icon will change to the .001 format and HJsplit will be able to find it.
Hope this helps.

Are you clicking the button marked Split, rather than the button marked Join? Else, are you certain that you`re not working with a set of RAR files that require WinRAR to join the file inside the RARs?
