Hey does anybody else have or ever had this problem? When I am finished using my computer I always clear everything. Obviously don't want others seeing the names of files and folders called virgin this or teen that etc. Laughing Embarassed I use a good program called window washer to remove all browser and windows history and it never lets me down and I am almost certain it is not at fault.

A couple of days ago I used the run feature in windows xp start menu and to my horror when I hit the f button on my keyboard I got a list of files that are deleted from my comp. D button will bring up files that were on an external hd also.. d drive, same if I hit j it brings up history of files from j drive etc. It's quite a comprehensive list! Shocked Sad

It only seems to be happening in the run box and nowhere else such as windows explorer or internet explorer. Sometimes the list will be deleted for a while but then the next day when I start my computer it is back again! Only in the run feature and nowhere else? Confused

Does anyone know how to get rid of this? I have antivirus and firewall software, two spyware programs and none of them show up anything wrong? I've only noticed this happeneing since last Monday.

BTW I know I can hide the run feature in the start menu from others..., but still... Other people use my computer too Embarassed Sad

If anyone knows specifically about this can they please help.

O.k. I am going to the shop now to get some beers in and when I log back in here in a few minutes I expect an answer! Laughing

Ciao mi amigo Italiano

I've been using C Cleaner for a while and seems OK, (other IT techies use it too)

I tried your 'run' 'f' thing on my PC and it clears it, so maybe give it a go, it won't f**k your machine up anyhoo

PS sorry it took so long to answer, I was having a pint myself

Thanks for the reply tovefan. Smile Yeah I might give that c cleaner prog a go. The thing is I don't really think that ww is at fault. If it is it will be the first time in nearly 6 years! Plus the run dialogue box should clear when you delete internet history files and recent files in windows. I tried this on my work comp and it does but on my home one... nope, same problem links still appear!

I think maybe I have a reg error on my system or possibly worse spyware that I am not picking up when I do a scan.

Thanks for your input and if anyone else knows anything about this please let me know. I will be trying a few things over the next few days. I really hope it is not a virus! I already got that blackbox byte.verify piece of shit a few years ago and had to completely re-format my hard drive to get rid of it. Sad

Ciao...! Laughing
