It's not that easy to tell
if there really is anybody interested in that kind of stuff...as long as there is no information about the feedback beyond the count of threadviews. So maybe, as in other forums, the implementation of a "thanks"-button would tell a little more about what people
really like.

Yes! At least in my case i'm quite sure about this beeing a fact in the first place. I only have to have a look at tv-programm i.e. to get an impression that mainstream taste differs "somehow" from what i like.

That's another point. There is very little conversation in the threads. And i am afraid that it is in most cases not really wanted. Some thanks or requesting here and there. But i can not remember to ever have seen some more controverse questions.
You are right! There are still a lot of nice users posting nice stuff. But as far as i remember quality of content as well as structure (thread naming, complete collections e.a.) of the forum seemed to be a lot nicer "back then". If i had to name a particular point in "history" it would be the struggle breaking out when ORON has been set as "recommended file host" and some of the others
lot more (free)user friendly ones have been banned for it. Yes...
way back! But that was when a lot of real quality posters left the forum.
For myself i can say i stopped posting when a thread i opened for one of my favourite models, complete "by site"-collection in chronological order, has been trashed by one of the mods for one "missing" preview pic (just two instead of the three the rule recommends) in two postings.
