Hopefully some can help out by giving me a lead as to a program that will enable me to join several parts of one movie together. The problem is that they come from different souces, have different image sizes etc.

Basically I have a file which contains most of a movie and some other files which contain sections that are not in the main movie. I could join them together but they have different screen sizes etc. which my program doesn't allow.

What I need is a program that will allow me to convert all that I have to a common standard so that I can edit and join them together into a complete movie. Can anyone recommend anything?

Since they are different resolutions they will need to be re-encoded. If they are wmv, an easy program for encoding and joining them is Windows Media Joiner. It has a 15 day trial. http://wmj.fronoh.com/Content/WMJ/

You can also try converting them with the DivX Converter and then joining the files with VirtualDub. Just make sure to use the same encoding settings on each separate part.

It would help to know what format your files are in.
