The hilarious argument between a model and the fans sharing her (pretty boring) material here:

made me think about the different types of internet models and why many of them often think more highly of themselves than they really should. So I have constructed what I consider to be a broad classification of the various model types as I see things.
Debate is encouraged.
I group them into 3 categories (Pretty, Cute, and Nice Body), and separate each category into High self-esteem and Low self-esteem sub-groupings.

Pretty Girls
High - pretty and they know it; can be successful as permanent teases, often not the brightest bulbs in the box, may not be very nice human beings because they are allowed to get away with not developing much of a personality by everyone from day one
Low - can be the real mean girls; smart enough to realize that no one is perfect and be suspicious of the special treatment they receive; turn their insecurities on themselves and/or others, will usually end up going more explicit to keep getting the attention they don't know what to do without because they don't believe that they can stay soft and maintain success (mostly because everyone around them is whispering this in their ear all the time)
Cute Girls
High - adorable, happy; enjoy the attention, are satisfied with what they have and are content to flaunt it; show quite a bit, but never go too hard
Low - want more than what they have, often will try to 'upgrade' with surgery, etc. to move up the scale, but this usually destroys the distinctive cuteness they had and makes them one of a million surgically altered skanks who are advertising to the world that they don't think much of themselves and are inviting everyone else to treat them accordingly; fade away quickly once their cute factor is gone, occasionally come back with really hardcore stuff to try and reignite their 'careers'
Nice Body Girls
High - not pretty and they know it, but show what they have and probably appreciate the extra money and have real long term plans for their lives; not around for long
Low - don't have any real plans, hang around long term for the attention they are not getting anywhere else; become pornstars

PH (5%) are rare, probably because most beautiful girls/women have plenty of opportunities in life other than taking of their clothes on the internet.
PL are more common (15%), likely because while they are pretty they can't/don't think they can get any other opportunities and/or because they simply crave the attention.
CH (10%) are the real darlings of the industry. They are not high maintenance like the pretty girls, and yet they attract rabid fan followings because they are accessible and down to earth.
CL (20%) start off well, but are not secure enough to be patient and take what they can get and usually need a bigger 'fix' rather quickly, resulting in surgery and or porn (these become the good looking pornstars) within a year.
NBH (40%) are the meat and potatoes of the industry, the basic sites that keep the agencies running while they keep their eyes out for the undiscovered CH's out there.
NBL (10%) are less common because while they have something we would want to see, they are not confident enough to think that way, and very few of them actually can imagine themselves as making any money doing it.

The big problem we face as fans is that while we can instinctively group new models into these categories based on the user frame of reference (the real world), many girls often see themselves in a higher category than they really are (a function of being around a lot of flatterers all the time). These girls then tend to get upset when fans (who see them for what they really are and therefore have certain expectations about their career paths) start clamoring for more and more explicit nudity because it challenges their misconception that they are all Pretties. The ones you see flaming on message boards and forums are either PL's, who doubt their attractiveness and feel pressure to get more explicit, or Cutes who get delusions of grandeur once their sites start to attract paying members. The H's will never respond to fan pressure, but the L's inevitably do, either by engaging in screaming matches on message boards...or by going harder.
All models should instead assume that they are NBs to start with, and then if they get very successful they can consider themselves Cutes. But they should
always be working on real life plans like the NBH's so that they have something else to fall back on (e.g., an education) when their 15 minutes are up. I hope the model in the linked thread above is saving some of her earnings. From the sounds of it (everyone in the company driving new cars), they are all using her and she will not have a penny to her name once is used up and tossed aside, and then she will be older, less attractive, and have no fall-back plan. Girls who get into the business thinking they are Pretties do not end well, unless they are part of the very small percentage of actually pretty girls with high self-esteem.
