Any recommendations for an easy to use cataloger for video files avi, wmv, mpg, etc. I have two in mind:

Movie Collecter 1.0 or Ant Movie Catolog

Any advice on this would be appreceated.

From my point of view there are no better Movie Organizer Software on the market than All My Movies from Bolide Software. Very Happy

thanks for the response. All the programs I have tried are not what I want. I am looking for something very simple here. Like an indexing system, maybe with a screenshot.

that's actually a great idea. i know there are auto tagging systems for mp3s and itunes does a somewhat descent job of organizing mp3s. i am sure there is something for videos (?)

my indexing system consists of burning archives on dvds and then never looking at them again cause its too much of a pain and the ass to dig them out

If you number the CDs and DVDs then a simple text file will do what you want - except for the preview pics.
By not using fields (except the leading number)
you can put whatever info you want.

Example:

1 movie name, so n so is in it
2 movie name year
3 movie movie movie (a DVD disk)

Using any text editor you can search for what you want.
Just store the disks in numerical order.

Still looking for a good video indexer or cataloger. I am looking for something where I can re-arange order, and like Windows Explorer in 'details' mode. Anything like this available ?
