First of all: Are you upload as premium or free user?!?

I've a premium RS account and use the RS Upload manager, no probs on my side.

There are different possible reasons why you can't upload.

OS, Browser, Firewall, Router, Connection.

Also, are you starting with a large file? Try a test with some small, 5 to 15 M files and see how they work. The more info you can give about how and when your problem happens, the better the chance someone can suggest a fix.

ok:

Im not apremium user of either rapidsahre or megaupload

Ive tried uploading small files (<10 mb) but didnt work

I dont have a firewall only an antivirus

It olways says on firewlall agter a few secs, that my connection has been "reinitiated", i dont what that means, also when I putr the refgesh button it the file apparently starts to upload but the process goes on forever and the porcentage never goes up more then 1%, the upload sped never goes up more than o (lol)

Hi

What system and browser are you using?

I have the exact same problem when I try to upload using the Safari browser, but it works every time when I use Firefox.

My best tip is to create a "collector's account" -- this is an account (as far as I can tell) you can't download with, but can upload with.

Then get this:
dead link

And upload away.

I don't think this problem has something to do with the kind of RS-account you are trying to upload to.
Can it be that this built-in XP-Firewall is enabled? If so, disable it for a test and try to upload, let's say, a 10MB file. (find under settings/system)
You can also try to temporarily disable your antivirus software.
And: where do you get this message from: "Re-initiated", is it a windows message (from XP firewall) or comes it from your anitivirus?
Confused

Hi Shakesfloyd

When I started posting I had a problem that looks like this one.
But it wasn't as bad as in your case, so I'm not sure.
When uploading the speed would drop to almost zero, sometimes the upload resumed, sometimes the connection was reinitiated by rapiduploader.

Cleaning up my system (cookies, cache, tempfiles) helped.

The speed still drops frequently, but almost always the upload is resumed.

BTW
When reinitiating happens while uploading a batch of files, the uploading resumes at the last uploaded file.
So that file is then uploaded twice.
It does not happen to me only. I've seen other cases.
Maybe if posters who have these strange double uploads share their experiences we can get to the bottom of this.
Just a thought.

Hi..I got the same problem again..100MB upload takes almost 1 hour.
If u got vista, then turn off the defender. It's not worth anything.
U need to go into the regristration base.Read about how on piratbay, bleppingcomputer or maybe in here...
My trouble wasn't the pc, but our local broadband connection.
The only thing i can do(maybe u too) are to wait.
The speed will be back but it's pissing us off.
Someone say it's a kind of "crossing" from rs site, but so much
i don't now about such stuff...
This was just an idee... Wink

So it seems to be a global internet connection problem, or do you have any antivirus intalled?
Maybe your Internet Service Provider doesn't let you upoad to RS, just search on his page or ask, but in that case, downloads normally don't work too.
Maybe you can make a screenshot, or at least identify the program that gives you the error message, that would help
