I joined MU for ten bucks/thirty days. I use it almost exclusively for my uploads and I'm now on my third month on that same ten bucks due to reward points for downloads of those files I upped. I upped an 800 and something Mb MetModels set all at once on MU and you just can't do that at RS.

I download voraciously with RS via IDM at speeds approaching 400kbs- diminished proportionately by the number of simultaneous actions, and I've yet to encounter any real fluctuations in rate no matter the time of day. I also flirt with the DL limit at RS but usually manage to restrain myself at the necessary moment.

Sum total, about thirty three bucks for three months-plus of both. That's my vote...

For uploading, I'm thinking of using Sharebee.com if I don't need to protect files.

You upload to Sharebee then,
Sharebee will upload the file to several websites like rapidshare, Megashare, etc.

The Downloader can choose which server to DL from.

I prefer megaupload personally

Definitely RS! Upload & download max out my connection (choosing the right data-path).
They have the RS Uploader, and if you check out my signature below, I use that downloader (it's not perfect, but it does what I want, with a minimum of fuss)

Well it looks like Rapidshare's master plan to rule all file share forums is still on track....personally I can't stand the fuckers. I lost 300+ upped files over night back in October 2006 when they dropped there max upload size to 100MB again. If you go to MU or ME you can upload up to a 300MB file at once and the downloader that has no account can download the single file....no wait. Go to Rapidshare to get the same file and it is in 3 chunks...yay...you get to wait up to 2 1/2 hours to get chunk number 2 and like wise with chunk number 3. I am an old school file-sharer and I don't want to ever pay anyone for my internet porn !

OK, my rant is over....I would suggest to every one to please post to multiple file hosts so those without accounts have something constuctive to do while waiting to download the next 18 parts from a Rapidshare hosted full movie.

rapidshare. a premium RS acct. is worth it.

in most cases if someone posts a bunch of galleries to megaupload i don't even bother with the thread. too slow and just generally kind of an ass-pain. same with most the others. RS ain't perfect, has its quirks (file size restrictions, etc) but by far the most widely used and mostly the one that works best.

i'm a pretty big rapidshare fan myself... probably because i have an account on there.
