rapidshare or megaupload?

hey yall
im pretty new to the forum, and i had a question. i ve seen that the fellas use either rapidshare, megaupload, and megaerotic, BUT these sites will only allow you to download a determined amount of content, so i see that i have to get a supsctiption to them. which one should i go with? or do u all know of a way around that?
help would be highly appreciated

While every few months, somebody starts a thread about how to beat the system, the cheats are often awkward and frankly, you will have lost your boner by the time you figure it all out.

Just use your credit card for one of the short-term accounts first. Once you're hooked, you'll be back for more and for longer.

Then there's the problem of buying new and bigger hard disks every month...

I vote for megaupload.

Rapidshare is faster, but MU has the 500MB File cap...I'll go with speed & split archives

What about sendspace? At least they won't make you wait like 165 minutes after a single download.

I use both. MEgaupload is good for large files, and speedwise it is pretty good.

Your choice of where to subscribe to depends on various factors. The main one I think depends on what most of the other posters in the forums you visit use. Here it's RS.com.

Then you have to assess the d/l and U/l speeds. For me RS is the best but that seems because I live nearer to the RS servers (which are in Europe) than MU, SU etc which are based - where?

Another factor is when you want to d/l. Peak times will mean slower service. Wherever you are, your evenings are peak time for your connection. And if RS or whoever is also on peak time then the speed is doubly slower. Being in Europe I find that 6-7am (GMT) is a good time to d/l. Most of Europe isn't on the net and a lot of the USA has gone to bed. Best time to assess the differences d/l speeds.

But the main difference I've found is where most of the posters on the forum use. It's no good signing up for MU or SU if you are going to have limitations because most people use RS, like here. If you go for MU etc. then you'll find you have limitations on what you can d/l and people may decide not to d/l files you have uploaded because they are not associated with the scheme you have decided to join.

I'm not promoting RS at all, just giving my assessment on the situation as it seems to me. I know the promotion of commercial sites (RS, MU, SU etc.) is not allowed. I'm just 'going with the flow' so to speak.

one thing i don't think has been mentioned is that RS as its more popular just keep making the wait times longer and longer for free users. even a year ago the max wait was like 60 min. recently the wait times increased again to 150 minutes. it's getting pretty outrageous.

i know RS is pretty cheap, but i feel like if i'm going to pay i'd rather pay the creator of the content, than someone who's just providing bandwidth.

i see uall point's. but dont we have to have an account in order to upload as well? i was thinking on eventually uploading some stuff as well.

On Rapidshare.com and most of these sites an account is not needed.
After uploading you will see the download and delete links.
Save them to a text file.

RS has a nice upload utility.
Play with it. Upload a very small file. See how it is done.

Well, I made my choise and I haven't regrettted it since.
But once youv'e made that choise (and sticked to it for more than a month) you have like painted yourself into a corner.

One Piece of advice comes to mind for any new posters who plan to be posting a lot of stuff which ever file sharing host you choose to use. Keep a log of what you've posted and where you've posted it. You might want to copy the thread URLs into a word document. I have no idea what a lot of the sets I've uploaded are or where I've posted them .

Rapidshare seems to be the most popular of the forums i frequent. They both suck if your not a preimium user.
