Sometimes I think that this place is a huge count. The prisoners count the hours, the bulls count the prisoners and the king bulls count the counts.

The quote was from English (Paul Benjamin) in the movie "Escape from Alcatraz" from 1979

Close Mattstan but Sean Connery said "Isn't that just like a wop? Brings a knife to a gun fight."

"You are one dumb son of a bitch. Bringing a knife to a gunfight."

says Harry Heck in the Movie The Punisher (2004)

Oh no, close but no fat lady singing. Embarassed

Does that mean my question "Real diamonds. They must be worth their weight in gold" is nullified? If so we need a new quotation to continue with. I've got a great one for next time, can hardly wait.

Excellent Quote!

There's nothing a woman hates more than her fiancee's best friend. He knows all the secrets she's going to spend the rest of her life trying to find out.

I think you've got us stumped with that one. I'll happily check on the IMDB that I've got a quotation -that I'm asking right - (since the embarrasment of LA Confidential), but I won't search there or the web, for an answer - otherwise what's the point?!

Can we have another please? I'm assuming Jabroni can't get it either.

Damn it, that's hard too. Sounds like civil war speak, but I'm sure it's not Gone With The Wind. Maybe Cold Mountain (but I wouldn't put money on it)?

PS. Boy are you in for a rough ride when I next get one. Very Happy

At times, one needs to cheat and go to the IMDb bible!!

But here's a hint:

IRELAND and lots of fun!

I can't see the point in cheating by looking it up on the IMDb. If that's what the game is about then it'll just be a case of my searching on your quotation, and others searching on mine. Waste of time.

With the Ireland clue, I've got 2 guesses:

Ryan's Daughter and Barry Lyndon? --Lean and Kubrick what pedigree this answer has! Can't think of any other Ireland movies that might have that kind of dialog.

There are movie quotes that we consider memorable; here we share them. To me it's more than a game but the opportunity to discover new quotes and movies. At times I recognize the quote right away; I check with IMDb to get the exact year. If I find the quote intriguing, I become interested in knowing more about the movie. That is when I "cheat".

Hints will be needed if not to check IMDb.

Hint 2: A self-imposed retired American boxer from Pittsburgh. Otherwise all irish!

The Quiet Man (1952)

You've **** me to break my golden rule and look it up on the IMDb. Embarassed How very hypocritical of me, but the game needed to move on.

I've heard of it, because it's John Ford, but never seen it. Any good?

Ok, let's see how you do with this one:

All dames are alike: they reach down your throat and they can grab your heart, pull it out and they throw it on the floor, step on it with their high heels, spit on it, shove it in the oven and cook the shit out of it. Then they slice it into little pieces, slam it on a hunk of toast, and serve it to you and then expect you to say, "Thanks, honey, it was delicious."
