I'm fairly certain # 3 is 99 Luftballons by Nena (aka 99 Red Balloons). I can still remember the video.

Thanks for doing another SD. You are da man.

However, that doesn't mean I'm going to relent on my "Stevie Nicks sounds like a goat" theme whenever you post a song where she sings. Very Happy Very Happy I've been pretty good at ducking under your scythe, and since Grimble is on vacation my shins are safe.

I'll grab a couple more "easy" ones, although I've never heard of #10 -- good snag Esteban, I guess what may be "easy" to one person isn't as easy to others. Hang on ... okay, I just checked out that song on BN, and yeah, I have heard it of course. But had no idea who did it! Sad

#2. Pretenders -- Back in the Chain Gang
#5. Matchbox 20 -- Bright Lights
#7. Fleetwood Mac, or at least, the "80s" version -- Seven Wonders
#9. Esteban got the song, and the group is the Divinyls, but I don't deserve a half-point because this is a repeat. I'll donate that half-point to the "Erin go bragh" fund.

Yes Day Sleeper you got #3 correct, und lass ihn fliegen.

Ah yes, Meredith Brooks, whatever happened to that little Oregon chickie? I remember it well ... Alanis put out her unbelievable Jagged Little Pill record, and then "pissed off female singers" were all the rage for a while. MB put "Bitch" out in like '96 or '97, capitalizing on that. But then I think she pretty much disappeared, at least from the US charts, though I could be wrong.

Still a couple left peoples, #1 and #8 have me scratching my head.

ok we'll stop this one here I think.

1 - Rogue Traders - We're coming home
2 - Pretenders - Back in the Chain Gang (ramblin'man)
3 - Nena - 99 Luftballons (Day Sleeper)
4 - Meredith Brooks - Bitch (Esteban)
5 - Matchbox 20 - Bright Lights (ramblin'man)
6 - Fun Lovin' Criminals - Scooby Snacks (Esteban)
7 - Fleetwood Mac - Seven Wonders (ramblin'man)
8 - Flash and the Pan - Hey, St Peter
9 - Divinyls - I touch myself (Esteban)
10 - Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Esteban)

I cant believe that no one managed to get Hey,St Peter. Oh well I thought that was one of the easy ones. I kind of thought that the Rogue Traders was a bit of a hard one but if your a neighbours fan you should have picked that one up because of Natalie Bassingthwaighte, a real cutie from the soap. heres some screen caps from her videos.

OK here are the next ones

1 - Come on baby, grease your lips, grab your hats and swing your hips and don't forget to grab your whips

2 - Sometimes when this place gets kind off empty, Sound of their breath fades with the light, I think about the loveless fascination .............

3 - I don't know what you've got, But it plays with my emotions, I want you so much.

4 - my heart is full love and desire for you, So come on down and do what you've got to do, Your started this fire down in my soul, Now can you see it's burning out of control

5 - I've been wandering around the house all night, Wondering what the hell to do, I'm trying to concentrate but all I can think of is you, Well the phone don't ring cause my friends ain't home

6 - Wagon train of lovin' moving slow, And I can see the peace pipe burning low, You criticize each little thing I do, But listen baby, I've got news for you

7 - Its so nice to met an old friend and pass the time of day and talk about the home town a million miles away.

8 - I see you, you see me. Watch you blowing the lines when you're making a scene. Oh girl, you've got to know, What my head overlooks the senses will show to my heart.

9 - All you've got is this moment, The twenty-first century's yesterday, You can care all you want, Everybody does, yeah that's okay

10 - A long time ago when the earth was green, there was more kinds of animals than you'd ever seen, they'd run around free while the earth was being born

I remember when The Irish Rovers were on TV. They always sang their trademark "The Unicorn Song", # 10 on SD's list.

Yikes. Never heard of Hey St. Peter, Rogue Traders, and as a US idiot I will confess to having never seen Neighbors, errr, Neighbours. But that girl with the tight shorts -- schwing!

New set is tougher Sri Darkstar. But since I'm early in the game this time I can still get a few.

#1. Dr. Hook -- Freaker's Ball (this is from when he was still good before the whole "disco" thing)
#2. The Church -- Under the Milky Way (GREAT SONG, and there's a great version in the movie Donnie Darko too ... just going for some sort of connection here ... Darko ... Darkstar ...... ).
#9. INXS -- Need you tonight

Finally #8 is buggin' me, but I'll have to sleep on it.

Damn. No. 9 was bugging me with that "21st century is yesterday lyric", I knew it was from a song I had heard tons of times. Just couldn't get it though.

I'm pretty sure No. 4 is: The Communards - Don't Leave Me This Way

ok here is possibly the last one in this challenge enjoy

1 - i'm so tired of being here, suppressed by all my ****ish fears, and if you have to leave, i wish that you would just leave, 'cause your presence still lingers here, and it won't leave me alone.

2 - When the head of state didn't play guitar, Not everybody drove a car, When music really mattered and when radio was king, When accountants didn't have control, And the media couldn't buy your soul, And computers were still scary and we didn’t know everything.

3 - We were drawn from the weeds, We were brave like soldiers, Falling down under the pale moonlight, You were holding to me, Like a someone broken, And I couldn't tell you but I'm telling you now

4 - All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey, I went for a walk, on a winters day.

8 - Breathless drive on a downtown street, Motorbike ride in the midday heat, Dust that hung from the desert skies, run oh we'd run it still burned our eyes.

9 - I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine, On a cloud of sound I drift in the night

10 - There was a friend of mine on murder, And the judge's gavel fell, Jury found him guilty, Gave him 1 6 years in hell

C'mon now Darkie-Dark, you know we all appreciate your work in driving this thread. Amount of feedback and responses usually depends on how easy your lyrics are. It must be very difficult ... too easy, and they're gone in a couple hours. Too hard, and no one responds for days. I think you do a MASTERFUL job of trying to mix them up.

That last set was one of your hardest IMRO (I should have had that Hall and Oates though). Communards? Boystar? Never heard of them. Dean Martin?????? Now I know you're less than 41 years old, so what's up with that? Shall I start thinking Frank Sinatra ... Jack? Laughing

MOLE! MOLE! Oh damn, I said MOLE! Shocked Very Happy Well rope me up and call me dogie, how the hell are you doing dude? Hope all is well there in the belly-button of the US. Oh, and thanks for the pressure. Unfortunately I haven't a clue who #5 is, although for a second I thought it was 10cc but that wouldn't make sense with your "Chick-rock" hint. I can tell you for sure that its NOT Sarah McLachlan, Alanis, Tori Amos, the Indigo Girls, Jewel, Jonatha Brooke, Joan Osborne, Avril, Joni, Paula Cole, Anna Nalick, Vienna Teng, Julia Fordham, Melissa Etheridge, Beth Orton, etc etc blah blah blahdiddy blah! Confused

But I can snag the other 2 remaining ones ...

#1. Evanescence - My Immortal
#3. Rob Thomas - Ever the same (since I got all those Matchbox 20 ones earlier I guess its only fitting that I get this one too huh).

Speaking of Evanescence, anyone know if their new CD is any good? I bet Illuminatus would know. And man, I have a live acoustic version of "Bring me to life" that just gives me goosebumps.

Thanks again for your continued efforts, Sri Darkstar. <bows>
