nice work btw you 2

1 - Well a man come on the 6 o'clock news, said sombody been shot, sombody been abused, somebody blew up a building somebody stole a car, somebody got away, somebody didnt get to far.

2 - You better watch what you say, you better watch what you do to me, dont get carried away, girl if you can do better then me, go.

3 - I call you on the telephone, my voice to rough from cigarettes, I sometimes feel i should just go home, but Im dealing with a memory that never forgets

4 - Tonight's the night we'll make history, as sure as dogs can fly, And I'll take any risk to tie back the hands of time, And stay with you here all night

5 - Once was a sweet thing baby, Held that love in our hands, But now I reach to kiss your lips, It just dont mean a thing

6 - You and I can see whats going wrong, We know we don't like it going wrong, Daughter can you have sons for yourself, Daughter can you have some for yourself

7 - When popstars still remained a myth, And ignorance could still be bliss, And when God Save the Queen she turned a whiter shade of pale, When my mom and dad were in their teens, And anarchy was still a dream, And the only way to stay in touch was a letter in the mail

8 - If I could stick my hand in my heart, spill it all over the stage, Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya, Would you think the boy is strange? Ain't he strange?

9 - I feel my wings have broken in your hands, I feel the words unspoken inside, when they pull you under, and I would give you anything you want, no, you were all I wanted, all my dreams are fallin' down

10 - Oh, why you look so sad? Tears are in your eyes, Come on and come to me now. Don't be ashamed to cry, let me see you through, Cause I've seen the dark side too.

Don't go too hard on yourself, that "perfectionist ruin all the fun" comment was a joke really.

Yeah I have lots of Moby's albums including 18 (which I seem to have misplaced or else loaned to someone who has misplaced for me Rolling Eyes ). I didn't get Hotel yet. I heard a few of the songs on it a while ago but wasn't overly impressed. I'll give it a second chance and get a copy tomorrow since you recommend it Smile

Your Queen hmmm I wonder who that is???

Speaking of "hard on"s, will send you a PM regarding my Queen. Wink

Moby's Hotel is getting better the more I listen to it. I bought it because I liked a couple songs off of it, but I didn't care for much of it at first. But, then, after a few listens, it got better and better, at least, for me.

Its funny about Moby's 18 -- the first song on the CD ("We're all made of stars") absolutely blows IMRO, and that's the song that hit the USA radio airwaves as a promo for the CD -- probably one reason why the sales were disappointing after the huge success of Play. But the rest of the album is really, really good!

there must not be any country fans here.

No.1 is Beer for My Horses by Toby Keith and Willie Nelson.

No. 3 was also placed in the first batch of songs in this thread, I believe.

Nawww, we got BOTH kinds of music here ... country AND western. Laughing

Regarding repeats, Sir Darkstar is getting pretty damn old, and his memory ain't all that it used to be. The rest of us just wipe his drool off once in a while and make sure the Waratahs and the 'Roos stay on the telly.

Good to see North Dakota representin'! Very Happy

I'm game, just don't use anything by the Who, we might not figure it out.

Even though I've been to the land down under, I confess to not knowing what a Waratah is. Then again, after that Vegemite incident, I'm awfully forgetful.

What, just because you're a mod and you have like three-thousand million posts, you think you can start a music thread inside a pRon forum? Gad****ks, the arrogance ...

Waratahs -- I was of course referring to the NSW Waratahs, a rugby team in Australia, usually just called the 'Tahs I reckon. I think I remember hearing that SD lives in a certain part of Oz, and I think that that team is popular there blah blah blah. Embarassed My humor is, most of the time, pretty damn lame. Maybe one reason why Darkstar hates all Americans. Wink

Or maybe this is the reason:

==================
U.S. ban worries
In October 2006, the Melbourne Herald Sun reported incorrectly that Vegemite was banned in the USA, with Customs officials going so far as to search Australians for Vegemite when they enter the country. The origin of the story appears to have been an anecdote from a traveler known as Ramblin'Man who claims to have been searched, and a spokesperson for Kraft Foods who made a misinformed comment to reporters. The story incited anti-American comments on blogs and in newspapers. The Melbourne Herald Sun blamed the President of the USA for the ban, and encouraged readers to post comments on its website and send email to the White House to "Tell Bush to Back off." The Food and Drug Administration later stated that although it is technically il.legal to add folate to food products other than bread or cereal, there were no plans to investigate whether Vegemite does this, to subject it to an import ban, or to pull it from American supermarket shelves. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection also tried to dispel the rumour, stating on its website that "there is no known prohibition on the importation of Vegemite" and "there is no official policy within CBP targeting Vegemite for interception." Despite these public statements, the story has reached urban legend status. While Vegemite has never been abundant in the U.S., it can still be purchased at some stores that stock imported foods.
===================

Personally I only like it in small quantities, a bit salty for my taste. Kinda like a girl who hasn't washed for a while "down under". Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Okay, back to the music. <ahem> Sorry SD.

I don't know why Darkstar would think Americans are bad. There is no reason to ban Vegemite here, since no normal person would eat it anyway.

I was in another lifetime one of toil and blood
When blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud
I came in from the wilderness a creature void of form
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

And if I pass this way again you can rest assured
I'll always do my best for her on that I give my word
In a world of steel-eyed death and men who are fighting to be warm
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

Not a word was spoke between us there was little risk involved
Everything up to that point had been left unresolved
Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

I was burned out from exhaustion buried in the hail
Poisoned in the bushes and blown out on the trail
Hunted like a crocodile ravaged in the corn
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

Suddenly I turned around and she was standing there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

Now there's a wall between us something there's been lost
I took too much for granted got my signals crossed
Just to think that it all began on a long-forgotten morn
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

Well the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides a mount
But nothing really matters much it's doom alone that counts
And the one-eyed undertaker he blows a futile horn
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

I've heard newborn babies wailing like a mourning dove
And old men with broken teeth stranded without love
Do I understand your question man is it hopeless and forlorn
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothes
I bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal dose
I offered up my innocence and got repaid with scorn
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

Well I'm living in a foreign country but I'm bound to cross the line
Beauty walks a razor's edge someday I'll make it mine
If I could only turn back the clock to when God and her were born
"Come in" she said "I'll give you,
Shelter from the storm".

There are times when we need to be extremely thankful that a man named Bob Dylan walks this big ol' hunk o' rock.

Bob Dylan... Who is that??? Confused

Also what was that song about RM???

Do you feel lonely and miss your motherland since you've been rambling sometimes? Is that what this is about???

BTW will this set ever come to an end??? Laughing
